One of the largest recreational lakes in the foothills, Scotts Flat Lake sits at an elevation of 3100 ft and graces the gateway of the Tahoe National Forest. The lake has a surface area of 850 acres and has become very popular for boating and water sports, camping, fishing, hiking and goldpanning. There is a full service marina with boat launch, modern tent and rv campground, picnic areas, sandy beaches and a general store.
